Queen Victoria’s Horn
Queen Victoria Sounds her Whistle
Queen Victoria carries a whistle suite designed to honour Cunard tradition while meeting the needs of a modern cruise ship. She is fitted with three horns in total: two mounted high on her funnel, forming her primary long‑range sound, and a third positioned below the mast for manoeuvring and close‑quarters signalling.
It is the funnel‑mounted pair that define her signature sound. One of Queen Victoria’s horns is particularly special, it is a replica of the original 1936 RMS Queen Mary whistle, the same tone that was later carried aboard Queen Mary 2.
This gives Queen Victoria a deep, resonant whistle that links her to Cunard’s classic ocean liners.
