Queen Elizabeth’s Horn

Queen Elizabeth (2010 – ) continues Cunard’s long tradition of giving each ship a distinctive and dignified voice. Like her sister Queen Victoria, QE is equipped with three whistles: two mounted high on her funnel, forming her primary long‑range horn, and a third positioned below the mast for close‑quarters manoeuvring and restricted‑visibility signalling.

One of Queen Elizabeth’s funnel‑mounted horns is a replica of the original 1936 RMS Queen Mary whistle, the same heritage tone carried aboard Queen Mary 2. This gives Queen Elizabeth a strong, low‑frequency call that links her directly to Cunard’s classic liners. This video shows both styles.
