QE2 Tour

1998 ( Trans Panama Canal Cruise ) | Next: QE2 in 2001

After her 1996 refit, QE2 retained her new colours however the Cunard Lion was removed. The ship's boot topping was returned to white, as the gold colour had appeared dirty against the Royal Blue Hull. These photographs were taken during the 1998 world cruise as part of the trans-Panama segment.

1999 (World Cruise Segment : Fremantle Harbor)

These  photos are of particular interest as 1999 was the last time that QE2 would sail with her blue hull and speed stripe. These would later be changed during the 1999 Bremerhaven refit. Carnival Corporation had purchased QE2 (and Cunard) during 1998 and their plans for the line involved the fleet being returned to traditional Cunard livery of matte black and white. ^ TOP
