1995 (World Cruise Segment : New Zealand) | Next: QE2 in 1998 On February 5 1995, Queen Elizabeth 2 was docked in Auckland Harbour during her 1995 "Golden Route" world cruise - the first one she had embarked on since her major re-fit in late 1994. Her navy blue hull, and white superstructure dominated the Auckland waterfront. The 'Cunard red' funnel stood tall and proud on this, the greatest ship the world has ever seen.
1996 (World Cruise Segment : Western Australia) On February 22 1996, QE2 visited Fremantle Harbor as a part of her 1996 world cruise. The following photo's are taken by Chris, who was Commodore John Burton-Hall's guests aboard Queen Elizabeth 2 for that day. Between the mammoth refit in 1994 to the 1996 refit in Southampton, Queen Elizabeth 2 was painted with a Royal Blue hull, complete with gold boot topping. An adhesive "Speed Stripe" in Red, Gold and Blue was added between Quarter and One deck, and an impressive gold lion, similar to the one on the company flag, was attached above the name CUNARD. ^ TOP
